"The Never-Ending Story" – Jewish Culture in Midrash, Poetry, and Literature

In this curriculum, students encounter classic Jewish texts, customs, symbols, and history in a personal and relevant manner through a wide variety of stories from Midrash and other ancient sources, as well as through modern Hebrew poems and stories. Each grade has a different focus:

  • Grade 1 – “My body and me”
  • Grade 2 – Rabbi Akiva, active learning and friends
  • Grade 3 – Neighborhood and Community
  • Grade 4 – Making Aliya to Eretz Yisrael
  • Grade 5 – Avraham: from rebellion to establishing a dynasty
  • Grade 6 – Shabbat

The concept guiding this curriculum views Judaism as a living and growing culture that is based on tradition and that is enriched by the contributions of each individual and of each generation which constantly add chapters to our “never-ending story.”
