Professional Development

The Keshet Association, which is a non-profit organization, offers ongoing professional training for teachers and administrators at the Keshet Schools and in other educational settings. We believe that to be able to “teach in multiple voices” teachers need to understand their own voices (i.e. to be able to articulate their own Jewish identities and philosophies clearly.) We believe that to teach Judaism, either as a Halachically-binding religion or as a humanistic culture, teachers need to be well-versed in the subject matter. We believe that to be skilled teachers who are able to tailor lessons to each student’s developmental stage, teachers must receive guidance and support. We teach through dialogue and we aim for a high level of professionalism.
